There's good news and bad news about Amy Heckerling's Vamps. The good news is, a large portion of the two new clips from the vampire comedy are full of classic Heckerling comedy (like the bit about embalming lotion.)
The bad news, some of these jokes miss, hard. Like the vampire cell phone farewell "GTG" (got to go). This is not on par with the clever off-beat 1990s vernacular from Heckerling's Clueless.
But perhaps that's the point. This movie is about an aging vampire (Alicia Silverstone) struggling to fit into a world of ipad minis — and on that level, it works. We'll have to wait until we see more to judge. For now we remain tickled with more Krysten Ritter (Alicia's vampire pal) and some Cousin Matthew time. Check out another Vamps clip below:
